Biography
Shirley Mallmann is recognized as the first prominent supermodel from Brazil, significantly influencing the global fashion industry and paving the way for Brazilian models abroad. Prior to her modeling career, she worked in a shoe factory in Santa Clara do Sul, where she was discovered by Marla Drebes, who also identified other successful models like Jeísa Chiminazzo. Mallmann gained fame for her work with Jean Paul Gaultier, notably as the face of his first perfume, and has appeared in the Pirelli Calendar. Her modeling portfolio includes collaborations with prestigious brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, Armani, Helmut Lang, Dior, and Prada. After taking a break from fashion to raise her son Axil in 2002, she returned to the runway in 2003. In 2008, while pregnant with her second child, she participated in a campaign for Patachou and later starred in a campaign for Silverlab by Colcci in 2010.
