Sonia Rolland
Biography
Sonia Rolland, born on 11 February 1981 in Kigali, Rwanda, is a Rwandan-French actress and beauty pageant titleholder. She gained prominence after winning the Miss France 2000 title, becoming the first African-born winner of the pageant. Rolland represented France at the Miss Universe 2000 competition, where she placed in the Top 10. Fleeing Rwanda due to the genocide, her family moved to Burundi and later settled in France in 1994. After winning the "Miss Burgundy" contest in 1999, Rolland transitioned to acting, receiving training from actor Alain Delon. She starred in the television series Léa Parker from 2004 to 2006. Rolland has two daughters, Tess, from her relationship with Christophe Rocancourt, and Kahina, with actor Jalil Lespert, whom she was married to from 2009 to 2018.
