Tim Matheson
Biography
Tim Matheson, born Timothy Lewis Matthieson on December 31, 1947, is an American actor, director, and producer. He gained fame for his role as Eric "Otter" Stratton in the 1978 comedy National Lampoon's Animal House and as Vice President John Hoynes in the NBC drama The West Wing. Matheson has also lent his voice to the lead character in the animated series Jonny Quest. In addition to his acting career, he served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. Matheson has three children: daughters Molly (b. 1987) and Emma (b. 1988), and son Cooper (b. 1994). Throughout his career, he has had to clarify to fans that his on-screen persona as a ladies' man was purely fictional.
