Biography

Triinu Kivilaan, born on 13 January 1989 in Estonia, is a vocalist and former model, best known as a member of the girl group Vanilla Ninja. She joined the group in 2004, replacing Maarja Kivi, after having met the other members a year earlier. At 15, Kivilaan's participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 was initially at risk due to age requirements, but she was permitted to compete as she would turn 16 shortly before the event. Kivilaan left Vanilla Ninja in December 2005, with the remaining members citing mutual consent and creative differences as reasons for her departure. During her time in the group, she primarily contributed backing vocals and had limited visibility in music videos, except for notable appearances in "When The Indians Cry." Following her exit, Kivilaan expressed interest in pursuing a solo music career after completing her studies. She currently resides in Switzerland and is in a relationship.
