Yasmin Warsame
Biography
Yasmin Warsame is a Somali-Canadian model born in Mogadishu, Somalia, in 1976. At the age of fifteen, she relocated to Toronto, Canada, with her family, where she pursued studies in psychology and social sciences at Seneca College. Warsame began her modeling career in 2000 with a booking for the Sears catalogue, while she was five months pregnant with her son, Hamzah. Despite her efforts in the Canadian fashion scene, her look was deemed too "haute couture," leading her to move to Paris in 2002. Her career gained significant momentum that same year when she was featured in Italian Vogue, photographed by Steven Meisel. In 2004, she was recognized as "The Most Alluring Canadian" in a poll conducted by Fashion magazine, highlighting her impact in the modeling industry.
