Alex Rocco
Biography
Alex Rocco, born Alexander Federico Petricone, Jr. on February 29, 1936, is an American actor known for his versatile roles spanning comedy and crime dramas. Raised in Somerville, Massachusetts, Rocco trained under notable figures such as Leonard Nimoy and Jeff Corey to refine his craft and mitigate his Boston accent. He began his Hollywood career in 1963, initially working as a bartender before transitioning to television in the late 1960s. Rocco gained prominence for his portrayal of Moe Green, a Las Vegas mobster, in the Oscar-winning film "The Godfather" (1972). He later won an Emmy for his performance in the comedy series "El Famoso Teddy Z" (1989). Rocco has appeared in over 400 television shows, including recurring roles in "The Simpsons" and "The Facts of Life." He has also collaborated on projects with his son, director Marc Rocco, in films such as "Scenes from the Goldmine" (1987).
