Biography

Chandra North, born on July 31, 1973, in Dallas, Texas, is an American model known for her work in the fashion industry. Initially aspiring to be a ballerina, North's modeling career began after she was discovered during her time at Southern Methodist University. In 1991, she moved to New York City to pursue dance, but her modeling opportunities soon took her to Paris. North gained prominence after appearing in the 1995 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, notably in a grass bikini. She has since worked with major brands such as Versace, Chanel, and Givenchy and has walked the runway for renowned designers like Christian Dior and DKNY. North has also been featured in prestigious publications, including Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. In 1999, she appeared in the Pirelli Calendar, and in 2012, she modeled for Shiseido’s 140th anniversary campaign. North is currently represented by multiple modeling agencies.
