Cristina Fernández de Kirchner
Biography
Cristina Elisabet Fernández de Kirchner, born on 19 February 1953, is an Argentine lawyer and politician. She served as the President of Argentina from 2007 to 2015, becoming the second woman to hold the office and the first to be directly elected and re-elected. A member of the Justicialist Party, she also held positions as a National Deputy and National Senator for both Santa Cruz and Buenos Aires provinces. Kirchner is the widow of former president Néstor Kirchner. Her presidency was marked by various economic and social policies, and she remains a significant figure in Argentine politics.
