Biography

Drowning Pool is an American rock band formed in Dallas, Texas, in 1996, named after the 1975 film The Drowning Pool. The band's core lineup includes guitarist C.J. Pierce, bassist Stevie Benton, and drummer Mike Luce, alongside a series of vocalists. Their debut album, Sinner, was released in 2001. Tragically, original vocalist Dave Williams passed away on August 14, 2002, due to heart disease. Jason Jones succeeded Williams in 2003, recording one album, Desensitized (2004), before departing in 2005. Ryan McCombs joined the band, releasing Full Circle (2007) and Drowning Pool (2010), marking the first time the band retained a vocalist for more than one album. McCombs left in 2011, and Jasen Moreno was announced as his replacement in 2012. With Moreno, the band has released three albums: Resilience (2013), Hellelujah (2016), and Strike a Nerve (2022).
