Fabrizio Cristiano De André (18 February 1940 - 11 January 1999) was an influential Italian singer-songwriter recognized for his poignant lyrics and musical contributions. His work, spanning nearly four decades, often explored themes of social justice, featuring marginalized figures such as gypsies, prostitutes, and outcasts, while critiquing the hypocrisies of established institutions, including the Catholic Church.
