Johann "Hans" Hölzel, known by his stage name Falco, was an Austrian singer, songwriter, and rapper. He rose to international fame in the 1980s with several hit songs, including "Rock Me Amadeus," "Der Kommissar," "Vienna Calling," "Jeanny," "The Sound of Musik," and "Coming Home (Jeanny Part II, One Year Later)." His most notable achievement came in 1986 when "Rock Me Amadeus" topped the Billboard charts, making him the only artist whose principal language was German to achieve a vocal number-one hit in the United States. Falco's estate reports that he has sold 20 million albums and 40 million singles, establishing him as the best-selling Austrian singer of all time. His legacy continues to influence artists and music genres worldwide.
