Hiam Abbass
Biography
Hiam Abbass is a Palestinian actress and filmmaker, known for her diverse roles in international cinema. Born in Nazareth, she studied photography and theatre before relocating to London and then Paris in 1988 to pursue an acting career. Abbass gained recognition for her performances in films such as Raja Amari's Satin Rouge, Eran Riklis' The Syrian Bride, and Hani Abu Asaad's Paradise Now, which received an Academy Award nomination. Her filmography also includes notable works like Amos Gitai's Free Zone and Steven Spielberg's Munich. In addition to acting, Abbass has contributed as an acting coach on projects such as Munich, Babel, and The Nativity Story, focusing on helping young actors convey their emotions on screen. She has directed two short films, Le Pain and La Danse Eternalle, and resides in Paris with her family.
