Biography

Jem is a Welsh singer-songwriter born in Penarth, Wales. She is known for her debut album "Finally Woken," which blends rock, new wave-styled electronica, and trip-hop. Collaborating with electronic producer Guy Sigsworth, she co-wrote the song "Nothing Fails," later reworked by Madonna for her 2003 album "American Life." Jem's second album, "Down to Earth," was released on 16 September 2008 and includes the single "It's Amazing," featured in the soundtrack of the film "Sex and the City." She received her education at Stanwell School in Penarth and the University of Sussex in Falmer, East Sussex. In her personal life, Jem is married to Joseph George since September 2009. Recently, she has focused on studying filmmaking and screenwriting, planning to take time off from music to direct her debut film. She has siblings, including brother Yestyn Griffiths, a singer-songwriter.
