Biography
Jimmy Carter is an American politician who served as the 39th president of the United States from 1977 to 1981. A member of the Democratic Party, he was born in the state of Georgia and began his political career in the Georgia State Senate, where he served from 1967 to 1971. Following his tenure in the Senate, he was elected as the 76th governor of Georgia, holding office from 1971 to 1975. Carter is notable for being the longest-lived president in U.S. history, reaching the milestone of 100 years of age. Throughout his post-presidency, he has been active in humanitarian efforts and diplomacy, earning numerous awards for his contributions to peace and human rights. He is married and has a family.
