Joanne Linville is an American actress best known for her role as the Romulan Commander in "Star Trek: The Original Series," where she became the first female Romulan to appear in the franchise. Her career began in the early days of television, where she performed in live dramas and made guest appearances in notable shows such as "Alfred Hitchcock Presents," "Twilight Zone," and "Dynasty." Linville's film credits include "The Goddess," "A Star is Born," and "The Seduction." She was influenced by Stella Adler, with whom she studied in New York City, and later became a founding teacher at the Stella Adler Academy of Acting and Theater in Hollywood.
