Juliane Köhler
Biography
Juliane Köhler is a German film, television, and theatre actress, born in Göttingen, Lower Saxony, Germany. She comes from a family of puppeteers and has a sister named Barbara. Köhler graduated from a Waldorf school and studied acting under Uta Hagen at the HB Studio in New York City from 1985 to 1988. She is best known for her performances in notable films such as "Aimée & Jaguar" (1999), "Nowhere In Africa" (2001), and "Downfall" (2004). Köhler is a longtime member of the Residenztheater in Munich, where she frequently appears in productions. Her accolades include Best Actress awards at the Bavarian Film Awards, Berlin Film Festival, and German Film Awards, all in 1999 for "Aimée & Jaguar." She was honored with Bavaria's Order of Merit in 2009. Köhler is married to painter and film set designer Michael Rösch and has two daughters, including Fanny Rösch.
