Biography

Keenan Wynn was an American actor born into a prominent show business family, the son of comedian Ed Wynn and actress Hilda Keenan, and the grandson of stage actor Frank Keenan. He began his career after attending St. John's Military Academy and securing roles with the Maine Stock Company. Overcoming the challenges of being Ed Wynn's son, he established himself as a skilled comic and dramatic actor on Broadway and in radio. Wynn signed with MGM in 1942, gaining acclaim for his role as a sarcastic sergeant in See Here Private Hargrove (1944). He became a well-known supporting actor, particularly in Disney films like The Absent-Minded Professor (1960) and The Love Bug (1968). Wynn also appeared in television series such as Troubleshooters and Dallas. He was the father of writer/director Tracy Keenan Wynn and writer/actor Edmund Keenan Wynn.
