Kim Da-hyun, known mononymously as Dahyun, is a South Korean singer and rapper born on May 28, 1998, in Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do. She is a member of the girl group formed by JYP Entertainment through the reality show Sixteen, where she serves as the lead rapper and sub vocalist. Dahyun became a trainee after passing an audition on July 7, 2012, having previously been scouted during a youth dance festival. She gained popularity pre-debut due to her viral "Eagle dance" video. Dahyun is known for her unique stage presence and has appeared in music videos for artists like GOT7 and Wooyoung.
