Laia Costa Bertrán, born on February 18, 1985, in Barcelona, Spain, is a Spanish actress recognized for her performances in film and television. She gained significant acclaim for her role in the 2015 film Victoria, which earned her a nomination for the BAFTA EE Rising Star Award. Costa made history as the first foreign actress to win a Lola, awarded by the German Academy of Cinema, and she received the Best Actress award at the Gaudí Awards from the Catalan Academy of Cinema. Additionally, she was nominated for Best European Actress at the European Film Awards. The New York Times highlighted her as one of the "Breakthrough Performances of the Fall Season" in 2015. Her film debut was in Tengo ganas de ti (2012), and she also starred in the short film Las pequeñas cosas (2016). Costa is fluent in Catalan, Spanish, French, and English.
