Biography

Linda McCartney was an American photographer, musician, and animal rights activist. Born to Lee Eastman and Louise Sara Lindner Eastman, she married Paul McCartney of The Beatles on March 12, 1969, and became a member of the band Wings. The couple had four children: Heather Louise, Mary Anna, Stella, and James Louis. Linda McCartney authored several vegetarian cookbooks and founded Linda McCartney Foods, promoting vegetarianism and animal welfare. She was also a professional photographer, known for her work in "Linda McCartney's Sixties: Portrait of an Era." Diagnosed with breast cancer in 1995, she passed away at the age of 56 on April 17, 1998, at the McCartney family ranch in Tucson, Arizona. Following her death, her estate was left to her husband, utilizing a Qualified Domestic Trust Fund to defer estate taxes.
