Maki Gotô
Biography
Maki Gotô is a Japanese singer, lyricist, and former actress known for her contributions to the J-pop genre. She began her career in 1999 as a member of the idol group Morning Musume, where she became the only third generation member. Goto achieved significant success with her first single "Love Machine," which topped the Oricon singles charts and sold over a million copies. She served as the lead vocalist until her graduation from the group in 2002. Goto released her debut solo single, "Ai no Bakayarō," in 2001, also reaching number one on the Oricon charts. After announcing her graduation from Hello! Project in 2007, she signed with Avex Group’s sub-label Rhythm Zone in 2008. Goto returned to the music scene with her debut mini-album "Sweet Black" in 2009 and later released her second mini-album "One" in 2010 under Avex Trax.
