Mark Rylance, born on 18 January 1960 in Ashford, Kent, is a distinguished British actor recognized for his exceptional work on stage and screen. He has received multiple accolades, including two Olivier Awards and three Tony Awards, as well as a BAFTA Award for his performance in The Government Inspector. Rylance garnered an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Rudolf Abel in Steven Spielberg's Bridge of Spies (2015) and appeared in Spielberg's The BFG (2016). Raised in a family of educators, Rylance moved to the United States in the 1960s, where he attended the University School of Milwaukee.
