Michelle Mone
Biography
Michelle Georgina Mone, Baroness Mone, OBE (née Allan, born 8 October 1971, Glasgow, Scotland) is a Scottish entrepreneur, designer, and parliamentarian. She is best known for founding the lingerie company Ultimo through her company MJM International, where she retains a 20% stake, and for being the sole owner of the fake-tanning brand UTan. In recognition of her contributions to business, she was awarded an OBE by Her Majesty the Queen in 2010. Mone was elevated to the peerage on 27 August 2015, and she was introduced in the House of Lords on 15 October 2015 by Conservative peers Lord Freud and Baroness Morris of Bolton. She was also appointed to conduct a two-part government review on business start-ups in deprived areas for then-Prime Minister David Cameron.
