Biography
Alastair Sim, CBE, was a Scottish character actor known for his extensive work in British cinema, appearing in over 50 films throughout his career. He is particularly recognized for his portrayal of Ebenezer Scrooge in the 1951 adaptation of Charles Dickens' novella "A Christmas Carol," which was titled "Scrooge" in Great Britain and "A Christmas Carol" in the United States. Sim's contributions to film and theater earned him critical acclaim and a lasting legacy in the arts. In addition to his acting career, he served in the British Army during World War I. He was married and stood at a height of 183 cm (6' 0").
