Edward Fox, OBE, is an English actor recognized for his work in stage, film, and television. He gained prominence for his portrayal of the professional assassin known as the "Jackal" in the film "The Day of the Jackal" (1973), which is one of his most iconic roles. Fox's film career includes notable performances in "Battle of Britain" (1969) and "The Go-Between" (1971), the latter earning him a BAFTA award. He also appeared in "The Bounty" (1984) and collaborated with director Richard Attenborough on several films, including "Oh! What a Lovely War" (1969), "A Bridge Too Far" (1977), and "Gandhi" (1982).
