My Dying Bride is a British band recognized as one of the pioneers of the death/doom metal genre, alongside contemporaries Anathema and Paradise Lost. The band's origins trace back to Abiosis, a group formed by guitarist Andrew Craighan and drummer Rick Miah, which released a three-track demo titled "Noxious Emanation" in 1990. My Dying Bride is known for its melancholic sound, combining elements of doom metal with gothic influences, and has been influential in shaping the genre's landscape.
