Roberts Scott Blossom (March 25, 1924 – July 8, 2011) was an American character actor and poet known for his work in theatre, film, and television. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Old Man Marley in the iconic holiday film Home Alone (1990) and for his role as Ezra Cobb in the horror movie Deranged (1974). Blossom's film career included notable supporting roles in several significant works, such as The Great Gatsby (1974), Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977), Escape from Alcatraz (1979), Christine (1983), and The Last Temptation of Christ (1988). Throughout his career, he was appreciated for his distinctive performances that often showcased his versatility as an actor.
