Ryan Lochte
Biography
Ryan Lochte, born August 3, 1984, in Canandaigua, New York, is an accomplished American swimmer known for his success in the backstroke and individual medley events. He made his Olympic debut in 2004, where he earned a silver medal in the 200 m individual medley at the U.S. trials and later won a gold medal in the 4x200 m freestyle relay at the same year's FINA Short Course World Championships. Lochte's most notable achievement came during the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where he won the gold medal in the 200 m backstroke while setting a new world record. He also secured gold in the 4x200 m freestyle relay and bronze medals in the 400 m and 200 m individual medleys. Lochte is recognized for his exceptional underwater kicking technique and has held multiple world records throughout his career.
