Biography

Symphony X is an American progressive metal band formed in 1994 in Middletown, New Jersey, by guitarist Michael Romeo. The band gained prominence within the progressive metal genre with their albums The Divine Wings of Tragedy and V: The New Mythology Suite. Their 2007 release, Paradise Lost, marked a peak in commercial success for the group. Symphony X's 2011 album, Iconoclast, achieved the highest chart position and recorded the most first-week sales in the band’s history. Known for their intricate compositions and technical proficiency, Symphony X has established a dedicated fan base and remains influential in the metal music scene.
