Biography

Angra is a Brazilian metal band formed in 1991, recognized for its blend of symphonic elements, technical instrumentation, and Brazilian regional influences. The original lineup included Andre Matos, Rafael Bittencourt, André Linhares, Luís Mariutti, and Marco Antunes. In 2000, Matos and Mariutti departed to form the band Shaaman. The lineup changed in 2001 with the addition of vocalist Eduardo Falaschi, bassist Felipe Andreoli, and drummer Aquiles Priester, leading to the release of the album "Rebirth." The band has seen various changes over the years, including the departure of Priester in mid-2008, followed by the return of drummer Ricardo Confessori. In 2012, Falaschi left to pursue other projects, and Fabio Lione was later confirmed as the new vocalist after the release of "Angels Cry 20th Anniversary." Angra continues to be a prominent name in the metal scene.
