Biography

Travis Lazarus McCoy, known as Travie McCoy, was born on August 6, 1981, in Geneva, New York. He is the lead vocalist of the alternative hip-hop group Gym Class Heroes, which he co-founded in 2001. The band gained mainstream success with their gold-selling album "As Cruel as School Children" and hit singles like "Cupid's Chokehold" and "Clothes Off!!". McCoy released his debut solo album, "Lazarus," on June 8, 2010, featuring the successful single "Billionaire," which peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. He has also collaborated with various artists, including Rihanna and Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump. McCoy has openly discussed his struggles with addiction and has experienced legal issues related to his performances. He has been in a relationship and is a vegetarian. McCoy is also the cousin of rapper Tyga and the godfather of Bronx Mowgli Wentz.
