Biography
Uzo Aduba, born on February 10, 1981, in Boston, Massachusetts, is an American actress renowned for her portrayal of Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren in the acclaimed series Orange Is the New Black. Her performance earned her a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series in 2014 and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series in 2015. Aduba studied classical voice and competed in track and field at Boston University. She began her acting career in 2003, receiving a Helen Hayes Award nomination for her role in Translations of Xhosa. Aduba made her Broadway debut in 2007 in Coram Boy and appeared on television in Blue Bloods in 2012. She is of Nigerian descent and married filmmaker Robert Sweeting in 2020, announcing their marriage publicly in 2021. In June 2023, she revealed she was expecting her first child.
