Vinícius José Paixão de Oliveira Júnior, commonly known as Vinícius Júnior, is a Brazilian professional footballer born on 12 July 2000 in São Gonçalo, Brazil. He plays as a left winger or forward for La Liga club Real Madrid and the Brazil national team. Vinícius began his professional career at Flamengo, making his senior debut in 2017 at the age of 16. Shortly after, he transferred to Real Madrid for a then-record fee of £38 million for an under-18 player, with the move taking effect after his 18th birthday. Since joining Real Madrid, he has become a key player, contributing to the club's success with two La Liga–Champions League doubles and scoring crucial goals in finals. On the international stage, he was instrumental in Brazil's victories at the 2015 South American U-15 Championship and the 2017 South American U-17 Championship, and he made his senior debut in 2021.
