Biography

Anita Louise Fremault (January 9, 1915 - April 25, 1970) was an American film actress recognized for her roles in classic films such as A Midsummer Night's Dream (1935), The Story of Louis Pasteur (1935), and Anthony Adverse (1936). Born in New York City, Louise made her stage debut on Broadway at six and quickly transitioned to Hollywood films. She gained acclaim as a leading actress in the 1930s and was celebrated for her elegance and style. Notable works included Madame Du Barry (1934), Marie Antoinette (1938), and The Little Princess (1939). Although her film roles diminished in the 1940s, she found renewed success on television, notably in the series My Friend Flicka (1956-1957). Louise married film producer Buddy Adler in 1940 and later wed Henry Berger in 1962. She passed away from a stroke in 1970 and is interred in West Los Angeles, with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame honoring her contributions to cinema.
