Biography

Coleen Gray, born Doris Jensen on October 23, 1922, in Staplehurst, Nebraska, is an American actress recognized for her roles in film and television. She gained prominence in the late 1940s with performances in notable films such as Nightmare Alley (1947), Red River (1948), and Stanley Kubrick's The Killing (1956). Gray pursued her education in dramatics at Hamline University before moving to California to further her acting career. She signed a contract with 20th Century Fox in 1944 and appeared in various films throughout the 1950s, including The Sleeping City (1950) and Kansas City Confidential (1952). In addition to her film work, Gray guest-starred in numerous television series. She was married three times and was involved with the non-profit organization Prison Fellowship. Gray's contributions to the entertainment industry have left a lasting legacy.
