Biography

Johannes Brahms was a German composer and pianist, born in Hamburg on May 7, 1833. He is considered one of the leading figures of the Romantic era in classical music. Brahms's work is characterized by its structural complexity and emotional depth, drawing on traditional forms while incorporating innovative elements. His oeuvre includes symphonies, concertos, chamber music, choral works, and over 200 songs. Brahms was known for his meticulous craftsmanship and often drew inspiration from folk music and classical traditions. Throughout his life, he maintained a close association with notable musicians and composers, including Robert and Clara Schumann. Brahms remained single and devoted much of his life to music until his death on April 3, 1897, in Vienna, Austria.
