Biography

Lisa Nicole Lopes (May 27, 1971 – April 25, 2002), known as Left Eye, was an American rapper and singer, best recognized as a member of the R&B group TLC, alongside Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas. Lopes was instrumental in the group's creative direction, contributing to songwriting, designing outfits, and shaping their visual identity. Her work with TLC earned her four Grammy Awards. Lopes also enjoyed a successful solo career, achieving two US top 10 singles, "Not Tonight" and "U Know What's Up," and a UK number-one single, "Never Be the Same Again," featuring Melanie C of the Spice Girls. She produced the girl group Blaque, which achieved commercial success. Lopes died in a car accident in Guatemala while volunteering. The documentary The Last Days of Left Eye was released in 2007, highlighting her life and career.
