Biography

Matt Reeves is an American filmmaker, director, producer, and screenwriter born on April 27, 1966. He gained early recognition for co-developing the WB drama series Felicity with J.J. Abrams, directing several episodes, including the pilot. Reeves later directed the 2008 science fiction film Cloverfield, produced by Abrams, which garnered him international attention. He also served as an executive producer for its sequels, 10 Cloverfield Lane and The Cloverfield Paradox. In addition to Cloverfield, Reeves directed the romantic horror film Let Me In, a remake of the Swedish film Let the Right One In. He achieved further acclaim with Dawn of the Planet of the Apes in 2014 and its sequel, War for the Planet of the Apes, released in 2017. Reeves signed a three-year production deal with 20th Century Fox in 2014. He is married and resides in the United States.
