Biography

Moonspell is a heavy metal band from Portugal, formed in 1992. The group released their debut EP, Under the Moonspell, in 1994, followed by their first full-length album, Wolfheart, in 1995. Moonspell gained prominence in the metal scene, particularly with their album Sin/Pecado, which helped them achieve commercial success. Their 2006 album, Memorial, marked a significant milestone as it reached the top position on the Portuguese charts, making Moonspell one of the few metal bands alongside Metallica and Iron Maiden to achieve this level of recognition. Additionally, Memorial became the first album by a Portuguese heavy metal band to be certified gold. Moonspell enjoys a strong following in Germany, where Memorial entered the Top 100 Chart at 68th position. The band is known for its unique blend of gothic and heavy metal styles.
