Biography

Namrata Shirodkar, born on 22 January 1972 in Mumbai, India, is an Indian actress and model. She hails from a Marathi-speaking family and is the sister of actress Shilpa Shirodkar. Namrata is the granddaughter of renowned Marathi actress Meenakshi Shirodkar. She began her career in modeling and was crowned Miss India in 1993, subsequently representing the country at the Miss Universe pageant, where she finished sixth, and the Miss Asia Pacific contest, where she was the first runner-up. Namrata made her film debut in the 1998 hit "Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai," which starred Salman Khan and Twinkle Khanna. She gained recognition for her performances in films such as "Vaastav," "Pukar," "Hera Pheri," and "Astitva," the latter earning her a nomination for the IIFA Best Supporting Actress Award. Throughout her career, she has primarily taken on supporting roles in Bollywood.
