Biography

Amorphis is a Finnish heavy metal band established in 1990 by Jan Rechberger, Tomi Koivusaari, and Esa Holopainen. Originally starting as a death metal group, the band has since diversified its sound to include elements of progressive metal and folk metal in their music. Amorphis is known for incorporating themes and narratives from the Kalevala, the national epic of Finland, into their lyrics, which adds a distinctive cultural element to their work. Over the years, they have released numerous albums, gaining a significant following both in Finland and internationally, and are recognized for their innovative approach to heavy metal.
