Biography
Charles Boyer was a French actor renowned for his work in over 80 films from 1920 to 1976. Educated in drama, he rose to prominence in 1920s French theater before achieving significant success in American cinema during the 1930s. Boyer's notable performances include roles in romantic dramas such as Conquest (1937) with Greta Garbo, Algiers (1938) with Hedy Lamarr, and Love Affair (1939) with Irene Dunne. He is also well remembered for his role in the 1944 mystery-thriller Gaslight alongside Ingrid Bergman. Throughout his career, Boyer received four Academy Award nominations for Best Actor. He passed away two days after the death of his wife, shortly before his seventy-ninth birthday.
