Biography
John Amos is an American actor best known for his role as James Evans, Sr. on the CBS television series "Good Times" and for portraying the adult Kunta Kinte/Toby in the acclaimed 1977 miniseries "Roots," which earned him an Emmy nomination. In addition to his television work, Amos has appeared in various films, including "The Beastmaster" (1982), "Coming to America" (1988), "Die Hard 2" (1990), and "Coming 2 America" (2021). He also has a background in the military, having served in the 50th Armored Division of the New Jersey Army National Guard. Furthermore, Amos was a Golden Gloves boxing champion. He is married and stands 183 cm (6 feet) tall.
