Maynard James Keenan
Biography
Maynard James Keenan, born James Herbert Keenan on April 17, 1964, is an American rock singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, winemaker, and actor. He is best known as the lead vocalist of the multi-platinum rock bands Tool and A Perfect Circle. Originally from Ohio, Keenan spent his formative years in Michigan before serving in the Army in the early 1980s. He later attended Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids and moved to Los Angeles in 1988 to pursue a career in interior design and set construction, where he formed Tool with Adam Jones. In addition to his music career, Keenan created the side project Puscifer in 2003. He is also a winemaker, owning Merkin Vineyards and Caduceus Cellars in Arizona, and is involved in various business ventures, including a restaurant in Los Angeles and an organic produce market in Cornville, Arizona.
